ichiyaboshi (salted and dried overnight) is a japanese way of preserving fish. soaking fresh fish in salt water and then air-drying it overnight. after the barracuda is processed overnight, it can reduce the fishy smell and make the meat firm and oily. roasted or fried are recommended, also served with lemon juice.
